Creative Island Festival – Artist Series

The Creative Island Festival Artist Series continued its mission of championing character art with a dedicated program in partnership with The One Academy Penang, welcoming acclaimed Hong Kong toy designer Jeffery Yau.

During his featured industry talk, Jeffery Yau shared his personal journey and creative philosophy, offering attendees a comprehensive view into the contemporary designer toy movement. He dove into the delicate balance between personal artistic expression and commercial viability, explaining how raw ideas are sculpted, engineered, and brought to life through precise prototyping, material exploration, and authentic community engagement.

Complementing the dialogue, a focused solo show brought Yau’s original sculptures and limited-edition releases into the spotlight.
